Hello! My name is Donnalyn and I am an emerging writer, poet, editor, and arts worker living and learning on Dharug land in Australia.

I write creative non-fiction, poetry, essays, and reviews of art, film, and literature. In every form, I am fascinated by the entanglement between art and language, particularly as a shared mode of enquiry and care. My writing often explores the strangeness of memory through our relationship with art and materiality. I am inspired by colours, stillness, film scores, and quiet feelings.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications), and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Class I and the University Medal) in English and Art History from the University of Sydney, where I teach as a casual academic in Art History. I also work in membership and professional development at the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA). I have previously edited poetry for the literary youth magazine Voiceworks, and participated in Express Media’s Toolkits: Poetry 2023 and Pari’s collaborative program P2P Ngariung #2.

I acknowledge the Wangal people of the Dharug Nation, the traditional custodians of the lands on which I live, work, and love. I pay my respects to First Nations communities' Ancestors and Elders. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
